My position at Michigan State University is funded through a partnership between the university and three Great Lakes fishery management agencies: the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, and the Great Lakes Science Center of the USGS.  The partnership is called PERM, the Partnership for Ecosystem Research and Management.  PERM was started in 1993 and currently supports faculty positions and research in Fisheries and Wildife, Sociology, Agricultural Economics, Geography, and Forestry.
